The latest chapter is the alleged fallout between Don Omar and Daddy Yankee. The truth is that they do have history, but the rumors that this two super star were behaving like tantrumy toddlers seemed ridiculous to me. Turns out that I was right. Don Omar took today to the airwaves to explain what really happened during that Las Vegas concerts.
During an interview with La Mega Mezcla, the radio Alex Sesation’s radio show in NY’s Mega 97.9, Don Omar said that he didn’t leave the stage on the MGM GRAND voluntarily. “Many people thought that I had left. That I stood up Daddy Yankee on stage. But that’s not what happened…Anybody who has been or seen a show in Las Vegas knows that the shows end at 11.30 pm, because their business is to get people to go and play in the casinos… (when he showed up) the venue turned on the lights and when I saw that, what I did was to tell the public goodbye,” explained Don Omar.
He went on and said that the show started one hour and a half later for production issues. “It has nothing to do with me. It has nothing to do with Daddy Yankee,” Don Omar added.
Long story short, they tried to play in Las Vegas the way they would do in Miami or San Juan and it didn’t work out. Or maybe it did. I bet more people will try to go to the shows they have schedule in the continental US, because he did announce some new dates.
The tour “The Kingdom” will arrive in the Madison Square Garden on July 30th, Miami’s American Airlines Arena on Aug 6th, and to Los Angeles on Aug 27th. Tickets will be available on June 9th at www.ticketmaster.com.

El más reciente capítulo es la supuesta pelea entre Don Omar y Daddy Yankee. La verdad es que hay una historia negativa entre ellos, pero los rumores de que los dos se estaban portando como niños malcriados me parecían realmente ridículos. Resulta que yo tenía razón. Don Omar decidió explicar la situación en la radio.
Don Omar le dio una entrevista a Alex Sensation, en el programa La Mega Mezcla, que se transmite sumultáneamente en las estaciones la Mega 97.9FM, en Nueva York, y El NUEVO ZOL 106.7FM en Florida.
Creo que tengo la responsabilidad de dejarle claro a los fanáticos lo que si sucedió, mucha gente pensaba que yo me había ido de Las Vegas, que había dejado plantado a Daddy Yankee en la tarima, pero la realidad no es esa, la realidad es que Las Vegas es la capital del entretenimiento, y hoy en día cualquiera que haya tenido la oportunidad de haber atendido o visto un show en Las Vegas, saben que los shows se acaban a las 11:30 de la noche, porque el negocio del casino es que todo el mundo vaya a jugar al casino…El venue prendió las luces, al yo ver eso lo que hice fue despedirme del público”,dijo Don Omar en la entrevista.
“El show en Las Vegas se atrasó una hora, treinta minutos, cosas que suceden en la producción, que no tiene que ver con Daddy Yankee y que no tiene que ver con Don Omar, y que no tiene que ver con animosidades conmigo y Daddy Yankee” afirmó Don Omar, “El control de la producción no es mío, y menos que las luces se encendieron durante el show no tiene que ver conmigo, mi show no sucedió por cuestión de tiempo”.
Además confirmó que la gira “The Kingdom” seguirá el 30 de julio en Nueva York, el 6 de Agosto en Miami y el 27 de Agosto en Los Angeles, California entre otras ciudades próximamente.
